Speaking is a natural ability of a person. However, speaking in a large audience is just another case. Good and effective speaking in a way will enhance your career, improve your selling and increase productivity. First, it is very important to know to whom you are going speaking to. Bear in mind that the audience is the receiver of your communication. Therefore, you should make some judgment or assumption about your audience in a positive way. To make it simple, you can group your audience based on their age, ethnicity or gender mix. In addition, you should also consider about the place and the time you are going to deliver your speech. One of the most effective ways of grouping your audience is to figure out what it is that brought them to your presentation and use that to your advantage.

Second, preparation will ensure that you are on the right track to effective speaking. In this stage, you should decide what is important, helpful, and essential to your topic. Then, you can set objectives by raising questions such as what will be accomplished at the end of the speech and what the audience will acquire. These will lead you to a rough draft of the details you will convey to your audience. Before you deliver your speech or presentation, you should make some outlines of your speaking rather than a full text. However, you should not read your outline because it will only create more barriers between you and your audience.

Finally, the most important tip is on the delivery process. Effective speaking is dynamic. Therefore, to maintain your audience attention, you should be conversational and natural. In practice, you can vary your voice, tone and gesture to emphasize points. If you think that the points are critical, you can repeat those points or by creating jokes, puns or metaphors so that the audience is aware of your ideas. In addition, you should not forget to ask for some feedback about your speech or presentation. Furthermore, you should make a conscious effort to improve your speaking skills once you realize your mistakes.
