Have you already scheduled your regular date nights? If not, this might be the first step to do after discussing and agreeing with you partner. Make sure you add them into both of your diaries and agree who"s going to be in charge to organize something.

Tip #1: Dinner

This might be a fairly obvious date night idea. To spice it up, how about choosing a new restaurant each time?

Tip #2: Gallery or exhibition

Depending on their opening hours, some galleries and exhibition have "late nights" to enable people who are working to come along. If you"re both into art, why not take a stroll through the national gallery?

Tip #3: Picnic in the park

Organize a picnic basket with blanket and your partner"s favorite food and choose a location with great view for the sunset or view over the city, beach or any other special place you like. Try out a place you"ve never been before.

Tip #4: Explore your town

Drive to a part of town, where you don"t usually go to. Either you might have something already planned or you make it your intention to explore and find new interesting places.

Tip #5: Drinks somewhere special

You might have your favorite place to go for a drink after work. Find a special bar that might have views over the city or just recently opened. Order a surprise drink for your partner.

Tip #6: Movie night extraordinaire

Many cities nowadays have outdoor cinema in the summer months or special event cinemas. In Sydney, where I live, we have cinema where you can lie down on couches in a small cinema and they even offer Indian dinner before or after the show.

Tip #7: Candle night dinner at home

Cook your partner"s favorite meal and make it a really special event with candles, music - whatever you can think of that would make your partner go: Wow! You could ask him or her to go out for a while during your preparations so it will be a surprise.

Tip #8: Create a relaxation evening

Think about your partner"s preferred way of relaxing: is it having a bath or getting a neck, shoulder or back rub? Or do they like to cuddle on the couch watching a DVD? Organize it and explain to your partner that it"s his or her time to totally relax. If you"re not sure about their relaxation preference - ask! (And make a note for another occasion.)

Tip #9: Theater, opera, or show

Look out for something at the theater, opera or a show that might interest your partner and book it in advance. This might mean that you need to ask your partner whether they are OK to move the pre-arranged date night.

Tip #10: Go for a walk

If that"s part of your "likes" plan a walk somewhere nice or somewhere new with your partner. Maybe you"ll go to a nice lookout and take a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers with you.

These are simple and some obvious suggestions. What I notice working with couples is that you KNOW those things but without a commitment you"re not likely to follow through. So have you planned it in your diaries yet?
