When most people get excited about doing something they typically want to start doing it now! Can you relate to this? I know I can. Unfortunately when it comes to  weight  loss  many people say I"m gonna go on a diet and I"ll start tomorrow. Or next week. It"s usually some time in the future. Why?

Well they like the idea of losing  weight  and get excited about how they will look and feel with the extra fat gone but there is pain associated to the act of dieting. The first three letters of the word "DIET" will tell you this. Here are 3 helpful  weight  loss  tips  that you can start using now.

1. Throw out those foods that you know you should not eat.

I know this is hard for many people. Maybe your parents told you not to waste food because, "There are kids starving in China so you better not waste it!" This type of thinking is what has caused many to be fat by overeating. As you throw it out play your favorite music and crank it up. Dance around the trash can. Enjoy getting rid of it and feel good about it. Chances are if it is making you fat then it"s garbage, not food. So put it where it belongs... in the garbage.

2. Turn yourself off to the foods you want to avoid and turn yourself on to the foods you know you should eat.

If your craving is chocolate then picture the chocolate as having nasty mold on it. Imagine the mold is always there and make it real. Imagine what it feels like to eat mold. Think how it feels to chew the chocolate and feel the hairy mold inside your mouth. Imagine what it smells like. Make the image as gross as possible.

Now take a healthier snack like raw almonds for example, and picture the nutrients and abundance of energy they give you. See your body getting thinner by eating these healthy snacks. Imagine the crunchy texture. See yourself feeling powerful and in control. See yourself as feeling more alive than ever before. Make it as vivid and real as possible! By doing this you will be in control of your food cravings.

3. Ask yourself how you can lose the weight and enjoy the process.

Think about that for a minute. How can you lose weight and at the same time enjoy doing so? This is very different from the typical "I need to go on a diet but I hate dieting!" When you ask how you can enjoy it you will come up with all kinds of ideas on how to do this.

So what could you do? Well how about joining a dance class with a friend. Or maybe you could get a group of friends together for a 10 mile bike ride on a Saturday morning. What ever it is just remember that as long as you are enjoying it you are more likely to stick with it. Just remember that it"s important to change your focus about the way you look at food, exercise and dieting. If you have fun doing it you dramatically increase your chances for long term  weight  loss .
